Kumari Club, 22nd July, 2008- BIM UNITED(BIM 6th) lost their game against BBA 6th in the penalty shot out in which Uttkarsh Manandhar made the deciding goal of the match.
The game had to start on watery ground because heavy rain had hit the ground before the match. This led to lots of missed pass by both the teams. Bidur of BBA 6th got a chance to score a goal in the 8th minute on a 1-on-1 challenge with the last defender, Roshan Ale Magar. But, it was easily cleared. Both the team defended well and the first half ended 0-0.
The teams got a couple of chances to score goals but they failed to capitalize it. In the last 5 minutes of the second half, Sushil KC(BIM United) found a good opportunity to score a goal but he couldn’t give the finishing touch for a goal. Since, there were no goals in the second half as well; the game had to be played on extra time.
Both teams fought hard during the extra 10 minutes time, but couldn’t resolve the draw. The teams were inseparable in the penalties as well until the last ball. The first three players from both the teams scored in the penalty shot out. Roshan Ale’s(BIM United) penalty shot was stopped by defender in the fourth round whereas the shot of Sunil Bhattarai(BBA 6th) also failed to convert into a goal. After that, Sushil KC came to hit the penalty but the ball hit the post and came out. To stay in the game, BIM United must stop the last penalty but the shot of Uttkarsh(BBA 6th) entered into the post and took his team to the Semi-final.
BBA 6th will play against VIII Prime Boys in the Semis.
